Skilled Aircraft Fitter
Location: Burnley
Contract: Ongoing contract
Pay: 19.70 per hour PAYE / 26.19 per hour Umbrella
Morson Edge are recruiting for Skilled Fitters to join a busy Aerospace manufacturing environment in Burnley.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on precision sheet metal components within a high-quality production setting, supporting ongoing programmes with long-term stability.
The Role
You will be responsible for assembling and installing sheet metal components using engineering drawings, templates and fixtures, working to tight tolerances and aerospace quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble sheet metal components using engineering drawings and work instructions
- Work with materials including aluminium, steel and titanium
- Install aerospace fasteners and components to required standards
- Carry out drilling, fitting and assembly activities with a high level of accuracy
- Use hand tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain quality standards and ensure right-first-time build
- Follow all health, safety and procedural requirements
- Work collaboratively with the wider production team to meet output targets
What We’re Looking For
- Time-served apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline
- Experience working within a manufacturing or Aerospace environment
- Strong practical skills using hand tools and assembly equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- High attention to detail and quality-focused approach
- Good team player with a proactive attitude
