POSITION SUMMARY

Delivers and oversees training programs for production and support employees. Training will be held in a classroom, lab setting and/or on-the-job (OJT). Training will cover all areas of the production, logistics, paint and delivery centers. Will work with the Technical Trainers, Engineers and Human Resources to develop new and recurrent training courses/subject. Conducts OJT with new hires and employees as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Research and develop new training programs. Responsible for updating existing programs based on industry and business operation changes.
  • Track and report metrics on training operation to HR and related business partners.
  • Responsible for creation of new SOP documents and updating existing documents related to training operation in collaboration with Quality team.
  • Conduct initial and recurrent hands-on practical training and assessment for employees, technicians, inspectors, and support staff.
  • Distribute and collect course evaluation feedback forms.
  • Maintain training records; physical documents and electronic records in LMS.
  • Assist in preparation of course materials and supporting documentation for assigned training schedule.
  • Assist new hires in the transition from onboarding to their assigned operation.
  • Conduct initial and recurrent classroom training for employees, technicians, inspectors, and support staff.
  • Coordinate schedules with auxiliary departments as needed to support new hire orientation and recurrent training programs (ie. EHS, Air Safety, HR)
  • Coordinate OJT schedules and specialized training with operational departments.
  • Assist with the organization and design of new training programs.
  • Conduct employee skill review in conjunction with production leadership as needed to determine retraining needs.
  • Inventory control of classroom training technology and technical support tooling/materials
  • Assist in development of in-house training courses for the Phenom and Legacy product lines, conduct training of same
  • Design and facilitation of the delivery of training programs from a variety of resources; assist in the research, evaluation and selection of outside consultants and trainers to meet training needs as appropriate.
  • Coordinate logistics with Environmental Health & Safety Director and Production Managers for all safety training.
  • Works in accordance with all applicable Company policies and procedures.
  • Regular attendance is required; overtime as needed to complete job functions.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

  • High School/ GED required
  • Some college/technical school preferred.

Experience:

  • 5 years of aviation assembly and/or maintenance experience. Candidate should have multiple years in a specialized functional discipline (avionics, hydraulics, structures, etc.), as well as a general understanding of multiple assembly disciplines.
  • At least 2 years of experience with is preferred.
  • 2-3 years previous experience in a training role is highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Needs to be proficient with various software, such as Power Point, Excel, Lotus Notes, SAP, MES, etc.
  • The ability to confidently speak before audiences of various sizes is required.
  • Must be able to read work orders, blueprints, and other mechanical specifications.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Be proficient in the usage of air powered hand tools and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Able to assist with development of training programs, including outlines, handouts and tests to set standards.
  • Must be analytically inclined – to be able to work with supervisors/managers to review performance issues and identify training needs/solutions.

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required.
  • Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
