As a Machine Operator III in our wood working (veneer) production environment, you will play a key role in operating essential machinery, including press, sander, shear, and knives. Your attention to detail will ensure precision in handling delicate veneer panels, while following strict safety and quality protocols. In this position, you will actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace by adhering to and recommending improvements to EH&S practices, making sure we meet our environmental and safety goals. What You Will Do:
- Operate various machines in a production wood working (veneer) environment, including press, sander, shear, and various knives.
- Follow detailed work instructions with precision and care.
- Identify and report quality concerns to ensure product integrity.
- Delicately handle fragile veneer panels to avoid damage and ensure high-quality output.
- Assist other areas of the production process as needed to support overall workflow.
- Comply with the EH&S Policy and adhere to all applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements.
- Report any unsafe conditions or environmental concerns to supervision, ensuring prompt resolution of potential hazards.
- Attend EH&S training programs as scheduled to stay informed and compliant.
- Actively contribute to the organizations EH&S goals, helping meet or exceed safety and environmental standards.
- Recommend improvements to EH&S practices that enhance workplace safety and environmental sustainability.
- Lift and maneuver up to 25 lbs regularly to support production tasks.
- Stand and remain active for 8+ hours per day to maintain continuous workflow and production efficiency.
- Utilize basic computer skills to input data, track production progress, and support operational tasks efficiently.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- HS diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 4 years of relevant experience is required.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Preferably at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing (machine operation or woodworking a plus).
