GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position supports manufacturing by processing titanium castings through their required thermal cycles with the use of vacuum heat treat technology and equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Casting, test material, and document receiving inspection and preparation.
  2. Casting and fixture loading as required by written work instructions.
  3. Heat-treat furnace set-up, operation, maintenance, surveys and shut-down.
  4. Maintain and file heat treat documentation including data entry of heat treat runs.
  5. Responsible for maintenance of a clean heat-treat area, including equipment.
  6. Forklift and overhead crane operation.
  7. Organize time efficiently to maintain a steady flow of parts while focusing on priorities.
  8. Responsible for inventory supplies reported to supervisor.
  9. Responsible for training new operators.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  2. Work well with limited supervision.
  3. Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  4. Understand the operations and flow of parts through the process.
  5. Work in a safe conscientious manner, adheres to safety rules.
  6. Communicate both orally and in writing to co-workers, Supervisor and Engineers.
  7. Ability to work with hands and posses a good mechanical aptitude.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of vacuum technology and mechanical aptitude preferred. Strong math skills and knowledge of programmable controllers helpful.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work with hand and power tools. Ability to write, stoop, bend, and reach to perform daily job functions. Ability to exert up to 35 pounds force to lift or move castings and fixtures needed in and out of heat treat furnaces.
