Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Armament Technician (Supervisor) to support RSAF Typhoon aircraft maintenance operations within a highly regulated military aviation environment.
This role involves carrying out and supervising scheduled weapons maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with approved technical publications, regulatory requirements, and quality management system standards. You will also provide supervisory oversight, second-signature assurance, and independent inspection activity, supporting the continued airworthiness of the Typhoon fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled weapons maintenance on RSAF Typhoon aircraft
- Perform tasks including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, minor rectification, and supervision of personnel
- Provide supervisory oversight of maintenance activities and personnel performance
- Conduct and/or certify independent, vital, and mandatory inspections (second signature responsibilities)
- Ensure technical quality and airworthiness standards are maintained at all times
- Ensure compliance with RSAF/DA approved technical publications, M&CA mandates, and SMU QMS requirements
- Carry out daily inspections to support the programmed maintenance schedule
- Assist with FOD control, housekeeping, cleanliness, and safety checks
- Complete all required aircraft documentation, SMU forms, and maintenance records accurately
- Ensure personal and team authorisations remain current
- Identify and report training needs or competency gaps within the team
- Support QA investigations related to customer feedback, enquiries, or complaints
- Ensure all mandatory training is completed and kept in date
- Undertake additional duties as directed by line management
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 7 years’ post-qualification aircraft maintenance experience in an operational flying environment (or 3 years on type)
- Experience working within a Typhoon aircraft maintenance organisation
- Strong understanding of military aviation maintenance standards and airworthiness requirements
- Experience carrying out or supervising inspection and certification activities
- Ability to work to technical publications, regulatory requirements, and quality systems
- Strong communication, briefing, and leadership skills
- Fluent English language proficiency
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship
- NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent technical qualification accepted by M&CA)
- OR Part 66 Licence (current or lapsed) or equivalent accepted licence
- Typhoon type training / Q course and relevant equipment training required
- Evidence of formal, structured aircraft maintenance experience
