Job Summary The Sr. Manager of Accounting will act as a business partner between all organizations outside of accounting (including but not limited to operations and supply chain teams, AP, Treasury and the finance organization). They will use their accounting knowledge to drive process improvements and accountability within the accounting function. This role will also incorporate financial analysis pertinent to the financial health of the organization in achieving both short term and long-term financial plans, as well as other strategic cost savings initiatives. This role will act as a thought leader from an accounting perspective and will have a seat at the decision-making table to drive accurate and timely financial information. Additionally, they will also manage and develop team members. | Core Responsibilities for all jobs at this level | - Lead the financial analysis and reporting for the external financial statements and monthly reporting
| - Represent the accounting organization’s values and processes providing high quality support to executive leadership and senior leadership teams
| - Direct financial and operational due diligence for all areas
| - Standard Accounting responsibilities including:
- Timely and accurate close process
- Review of quality account reconciliations
- Monthly close responsibilities (JE review, variance analysis, monthly reporting package)
- Process improvements and streamline processes
- Manage and Train an effective team
- Technical memos as needed
| | - Direct the planning, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of related processes. Interpret and recommends modification to existing policies and practices. Interpret and prepare accounting technical memo’s.

Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. For Exempt Managers: Managers that carry out these responsibilities for two or more employees will have significant input in hiring and termination decisions. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to deliver on each essential function satisfactorily. Education & Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university; and approximately ten (10) or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 5 years previous progressive management experience
- CPA required
- Experience in Healthcare/Airline industry recommended
