Summary

As the Supervisor, Materials Planning you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the materials planning processes within an aerospace processing environment. This role involves managing a team of materials specialists and shipping and receiving employees and collaborating with various departments to ensure timely and efficient supply chain operations. Scheduling and communication with customer base to meet OTD goals as well as overseeing/leading production control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and manage a team of material specialists, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
    • Foster a collaborative and proactive team culture focused on achieving production goals.
  • Materials Planning & Production Control
    • Develop and implement materials/planning/production control strategies to optimize production demands.
    • Plan/schedule and support execution of customer orders.
    • Monitor and analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and WIP inventory levels to ensure alignment with business objectives.
    • Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics to ensure timely production, material availability, and customer OTD.
  • Supplier/Customer Collaboration
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with supplier/customers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain. Give status updates upon request.
    • Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers/customers.
    • Monitor customer/supplier performance and address any issues that may impact delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the materials scheduling function.
    • Implement best practices and efficiency improvements to enhance overall supply chain performance.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Provide regular reports and updates on scheduling metrics, performance, and issues to management.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate any potential customer disruptions and propose mitigation strategies.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor&39;s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in materials planning within the aerospace industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory management, and procurement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using materials planning software and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with aerospace regulations and quality standards strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies strongly preferred.
