Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:  The Manufacturing Quality Manager reports to the Director of Quality and is responsible for the overall inspection process and engineering for parts produced in the Production Division as well as maintaining the AS9100 quality systems.  Responsibilities include developing and implementing inspection processes as well as managing the inspection process and approving parts for use by customers; operates in compliance with company safety practices; and performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Manage the quality systems ensuring compliance to SAI, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Establish and maintain an effective internal audit program for the organization ensuring that corrective actions are in place and validated.
  3. Manage the customer complaint system and correctivepreventive action program. Respond to customer requests for corrective actions in a timely and efficient manner.
  4. Assist the Director of Quality with revisions to the 14 CFR, Part 21 PMA Quality Manual, quality procedures and Quality Manual.
  5. Maintain internal and external quality assurance programs including ISO9000, AS9100, AS9110 and other customer required quality systems.
  6. Analyze, evaluate and communicate information concerning system non-compliance to the Director of Quality and Production Manager. .
  7. Facilitate quality improvement, continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
  8. Communicates quality philosophy, objectives and expectations to other departments in a team environment.
  9. Interfaces directly with customers.
  10. Direct liaison with the customer during all Quality System and Safety audits at all facilities.
  11. Responsible for all activities of Inspection personnel and, designated inspectors program, Ensures receiving inspections are performed on all incoming parts & materials
  12. Ensures that the Manufacturing data (drawings, specifications, etc.) are maintained in accordance with Customer requirements. Report any damage, incident or injury immediately to the Director of Quality after an assessment is made and the situation is contained.
  13. Responsible for the overall quality rating for the organization and reporting key quality metrics to the Director of Quality.
  14. Ensures that rejected, unserviceable and scrap parts are handled in such a way as to prevent their reuse as serviceable parts.
  15.  Chairs Material Review Board and Corrective action review board
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.
DIMENSIONS
  1. Currently manages the quality function, maintaining the organizations (SAI) ISO9000/AS9100/AS9110 Quality Systems.
  2. Currently manages all Manufacturing Quality requirements.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Technical field is preferred or combination of education and experience in lieu.
  2. Minimum of five years of quality leadership experience in aviation manufacturing related environment preferably using the ISO9000/AS9100 Quality System. Implementation/Maintenance of previous Nadcap requirements experience preferred
  3. Possess an ability to work in fast-pace and occasionally stressful environment while maintaining a high degree of flexibility, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  4. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously: possess thorough organization to ensure that all details of each ongoing project are followed through and managed correctly.
  5. Must have good working knowledge of MS Office including the creation of spreadsheets, quotes/customer letters, databases, and reports (Excel and MS Word).  Experience or ability to thoroughly learn Catia & Polyworks software. 
  6. Ability to work well with others in different departments, even when challenges arise (schedule, budget, etc.).
  7. Should hold excellent initiative and judgment to make recommendations for improvements in our processes and product offerings.   Individual will need to be assertive with vendors, and be able to effectively deal with demanding customers.
  8. Must be willing to undertake new responsibilities as business needs change.
  9. Presents self professionally and courteously with internal and external customers.
  10. Ability to travel and maintain a professional presence while demonstrating product knowledge during conversation with prospects, and demonstrate follow-through after the initial contact.
  11. A proven achiever with strong team-building and interpersonal communication skills and must be able to develop strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  12. Experience in lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement processes required.
  13. Must have strong leadership and project management skills.
  14. Proven track record in implementing, monitoring and managing toward production, quality and safety metrics while achieving financial obligations.
  15. Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills required.
  16. Must be able to focus on key tasks, prioritize duties, and manage multiple priorities.
  17. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  18. Exceptional communication skills are required.
Physical Requirements:  This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform office and clerical duties including use of office tools. Must be able to travel occasionally. 

Working Environment:  The working environment is corporate office facility.  Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
