JOB DESCRIPTION
The Security & Safety Manager is responsible for the operational oversight of security, safety, and emergency response across the corporate offices, Hangars & IndiGo city side operations. You will protect employees & physical assets, by ensuring robust policy implementation, oversight on security teams, and leveraging safety technologies. This role requires a proactive leader capable of conducting security & safety audits, managing emergency responses across workplaces & offsite, and ensuring 100 regulatory compliance to mitigate threats like breach of security policy, unauthorized access, theft, or vandalism.
Key Responsibilities
1. Security & Workplace safety Governance
- Policy Implementation: Drive the governance and execution of physical security standards and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) procedures across all workplaces.
- Operational Integration: Translate corporate policies into site-specific actionable tasks; partner with Facility Managers to ensure security technology (CCTV, Alarms, Access Control) maintains maximum up time.
- Risk & Audit: Conduct regular security/OH&S risk assessments and periodic infrastructure audits.
- Keep security & safety KPIs & records Updated.
- Contingency Support: Maintain readiness to act as an Executive Protection Agent during high-risk or exceptional circumstances.
2. Incident Management & Crisis Response
- Preparedness: Ensure all workplace locations are fully aligned with emergency preparedness plans, including evacuation, lockdown, and crisis communication protocols.
- Response & Containment: Act as the primary lead for on-site incidents to contain threats and minimize operational impact.
- Investigation: Assist Director safety & security in investigations into security breaches or safety threats.
3. Vendor, Stakeholders & Training Management
- Vendor Oversight: Manage third-party security partners (guarding agencies, system integrators, and monitoring centers), ensuring strict adherence to SLAs and budgets.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with the Facilities team to ensure seamless, integrated security operations.
- Culture & Training: Design and deliver safety/security training programs for employees and third-party vendors, focusing on emergency preparedness and workplace safety.
4. Travel & lodging Safety
- Monitor geopolitical situations in coordination with the Director Safety & Security.
- Hospitality Risk: Perform annual and impromptu audits of guest houses (NCR) to ensure lodging safety standards.
- Travel Oversight: Monitor daily travel manifests for employees heading to high-risk zones and conduct spot audits of corporate transport vehicles for safety compliance.
5. Liaison: On requirement basis engage with law enforcement agencies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Minimum Graduate or equivalent or Diploma.
- Experience: Minimum seven years in Physical Security operations or Corporate Security with minimum two years as Assistant manager or equivalent.
- Background: Experience in Real Estate security operations or managing corporate campuses is highly preferred.
- Certification: Certifications in Security, Fire Safety, Occupational safety are a significant advantage.
- Strong computer skills. Must be proficient and familiar in the use of Microsoft products.
Technical Competencies
- Security Tech: Expertise in CCTV, Security operations not limited to Access Control, Perimeter Protection, and Alarm Monitoring Systems.
- Workplace safety. Fundamental understanding of Occupational safety and Fire life safety.
- Response: Proven expertise in incident investigation techniques and emergency response coordination.
Soft Skills
- Leadership: Ability to lead diverse teams and manage vendors under high-pressure scenarios.
- Communication: Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to present data-driven insights.
