We believe that inclusion helps us thrive and grow at United across our collaborative Finance teams consisting of Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Global Procurement, Controllership, Investor Relations and more. These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.
Key Responsibilities: The Manager of Sustainable and Ethical Sourcing will develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with the organization’s sustainability goals, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. This role involves leading all aspects of the entire sourcing process to ensure suppliers meet both social and environmental standards. Responsibilities include implementing, leading and supervising end-to-end sourcing processes, building and utilizing metrics to support responsible supplier selection and procurement decisions, and collaborating with various departments to ensure environmentally and socially responsible sourcing practices. Additionally, the Manager will conduct supplier risk assessments, lead all aspects of supplier relationships, and promote responsible sourcing initiatives across the supply chain, while supporting change management to implement standard processes. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Business Diversity.
Strategy Development: - Partner with leadership to develop and implement a responsible sourcing strategy that is aligned with Uniteds corporate sustainability goals and business values.
- Develop and implement responsible sourcing policies and procedures to ensure suppliers compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements pertinent to supply chain environmental, human rights and fair labor practices.
Supplier Engagement: - Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with ethical and environmental standards.
- Monitor suppliers practices related to labor rights, environmental impact, and ethical sourcing.
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve their social and environmental practices, report progress and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring alignment with responsible sourcing initiatives.
Governance, Compliance and Reporting: - Develop a supplier code of conduct, to include labor practice standards, environmental policy, ethics, governance of documentation.
- Stay informed and ensure compliance with industry regulations, standard processes, and emerging issues related to sustainable and ethical sourcing.
- Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to advise sourcing decisions.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on responsible sourcing initiatives and performance metrics for internal and external partners.
- Establish business practices for assessing company’s supply chain activity that are beyond ownership of control.
- Supervise and report on responsible sourcing metrics and performance to Manager and other potential partners
Training and Awareness: - Develop training programs and educational materials on responsible sourcing practices for internal teams and suppliers.
- Facilitate training and workshops for employees and suppliers on responsible sourcing practices.
- Provide mentorship on integrating sustainability considerations into procurement decisions.
Collaboration and Advocacy: - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, legal, operations and sustainability to integrate responsible sourcing into procurement processes.
- Represent the company in industry forums and initiatives related to responsible sourcing and sustainability.
- Support leadership to make informed decisions on business diversity by providing data and building effective tracking dashboards to glean valuable insights

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): - Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Environmental Science, Human Rights in Business, Ethical Sourcing or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, with a focus on environmental sustainability, human rights, or corporate social responsibility
- 2- 4 year managerial experience
- Experience in procurement and supply chain, including sustainable and ethical sourcing practices and initiatives.
- Experience briefing and working with executive leaders
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
- Maturity to inspire change in a sophisticated environment
- Strong communication and social skills, and the ability to be a persuasive advocate
- Change Management and Process improvement skills

The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $135,960.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
