As a trusted global leader in aerospace, defence, and space, we are proud to be a company where diversity, innovation, and opportunity come together to shape a sustainable future where we can all succeed together through a shared visionWe are looking for passionate individuals to join our Assembly team as a Supervisor at our Landing Systems MRO site in Gloucester.Your Role:The Supervisor role is a critical position within our MRO assembly operations where you will play an active role in the completion of production plans (MPS) with responsibility for the Assembly processes for the multiple Landing Gears. Youll lead from the front and collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate completion of kits to enable assembly prior to despatch. Technically strong, drive and a structured approach will be vital!Key responsibilities:• Lead the Assembly team, ensuring effective people management and use of reports and application of tool kits to support performance, conduct, absence, wellbeing, annual leave management, overtime reviews• Take accountability for dedicated focals in your area of responsibility to control key processes, including but not limited to 5S, Calibration, Maintenance, Health & Safety, Tooling, technical documentation reviews and GPIs• Ensure that works procedures and SOPs are adhered to at all times• Lead on Continuous Improvement initiatives including process mapping, kaizen events, 5S etc• Effectively cascade policy deployment initiatives and information across your team and wider business• Effective control of WIP levels, rotable piece parts and SPT reduction.• Champion adherence to the Airworthiness regulations and ensure compliance via robust and accurate works procedure reviews• Enhance Employee Engagement - Contribute to QRQC meetings and own action plans associated to improvements in internal quality/rejects. Update during monthly reviews
Job Requirements:

What You'll Bring:• A strong engineering background is highly desired, ideally within a production, manufacturing or assembly environment (aerospace would be advantageous but not essential!)• Demonstrable experience of leading & managing a team• A working knowledge of lean principles, ideally to Green Belt level, and how to deploy these to drive continuous improvement within your area• The ability to adopt an efficient 'hands-on' approach as appropriate• Capable of interpreting and communicating KPI's and developing appropriate actions• Good knowledge of Microsoft applications, in particular Power Point, Word, Excel• Familiarity of 8D and QRQC tools would be advantageousAt Safran, we understand that diversity and inclusion make teams stronger and more effective, and as an organisation, we are committed to fair and equitable employment practices for everyone.We also know that some candidates may be put off applying for jobs where they don't meet 100% of the criteria outlined in the advert, however, we encourage anybody to apply if you can demonstrate a variety of skills and experience relevant to the requirements of this role.
