Government Contracts Manager I in GAC Savannah


Unique Skills:

Strong verbal and written comunication skills and ability to deal effectively with personnel at all levels

All aspects of contract managment and administration, especially negotiation, compliance and change management - FAR/DFARS familiarity/experience a plus

Support proposal activities to ensure compliance with solicitation requirements and company policies and procedures

Provide contract support to Program Office during program execution (operations/managed programs)

Support Import/Export compliance

Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. person and qualified to obtain a Government security clearance. Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); SharePoint and Power BI a plus

Position is located in Savannah, GA; position is not available for remote work.

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 years Contracts administration or related experience. Advanced degree in related field may offset one year of experience requirement.

Position Purpose:

Individual contributor role and subject matter expert in the Government Contracts team.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Conducts negotiations, reviews, and management of contracts .
  2. Supports proposal activities to ensure compliance with solicitation requirements and policies and procedures .
  3. Reviews and coordinates approvals of contractual documents for protection of company's contractual position, satisfaction of customer specifications and requirements, and adherence to company policy .
  4. Advises leadership and other functions of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions .
  5. Acts as the primary interface with customers including fact-finding, audits, and formal contract negotiations .
  6. Acts as a focal point with other departments for resolution of problems regarding contracts .
  7. Manages contract change process and works with Program Management, Engineering, Finance and other disciplines to mitigate performance risk .
  8. Assists with the development of subcontract statements of work and flow-down of mandatory or otherwise necessary/prudent terms and conditions from a business and contract perspective .
  9. Ensures compliance with all export requirements - ITAR/EAR .
  10. Ensures compliance with company policies, laws and regulations .

Additional Functions:

  1. Collaborates and works well cross-functionally throughout the business .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

  1. Subject matter expert in FAR/DFAR contracting requirements, compliance and emerging issues.
  2. Experience in DCS efforts and FMF processes/reporting.
  3. Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with personnel at all levels.
  4. Possesses strong computer skills (Microsoft Office), Sharepoint to support communications and business needs.
  5. Demonstrates strong self-motivation and able to exercise prudent business judgment in matters of business importance.
  6. Demonstrates strong decision-making ability, negotiation skills and leadership competencies.
  7. Demonstrates practiced adeptness in all areas of contracts administration.
  8. Contracts Management experience in commercial experience along with government contract law.
  9. Proven ability to take an entrepreneurial approach and demonstrated negotiation skills, in successfully closing on a variety of Government, International, and Commercial endeavors.
  10. Must interact effectively with all levels of internal and external customers.
  11. Experience in the development/creation, negotiation and administration of various government and commercial contracts and agreements.
  12. International contracts experience a plus.
  13. Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. person and qualified to obtain a Government security clearance. Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
  14. Ability to multi-task and prioritize and close actions before deadlines as required.
  15. Must be proficient in MS tool set. Experience with Sharepoint and Power BI a plus.
