Development and deployment of the Avionics Global Trade program in the APAC region under the direction of the Associate Director Global Trade. This role will serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of Global Trade, Jurisdiction & Classification (JC), Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Authorizations and Sanctions for the APAC region. Familiar with both export and import regulations with focus in Singapore, China, and India. The position requires both a high-level understanding of the products and an intimate knowledge of the regulations surrounding their export and import, including U.S regulations as they may apply.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deployment of the Collins and Avionics Global Trade policies and procedures in the APAC region
- Development of the Global Trade focal network within the region
- Working under/within the various regional regulations that may apply to our locations in APAC
- Working under/within the following U.S. Regulations; Export Administration Regulation (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and HTS
- Perform most sophisticated JC analysis and validation (resolution of JC escalation, supplier issues, etc.)
- Perform HTS classifications
- Verification of Jurisdictional and HTS classifications
- Support Regulatory Compliance investigations
- Analyze business needs with respect to Global Trade requirements and develop compliant solutions
- Support development and delivery of formal and informal Global Trade training
- Review of transactions under Collins Sanctions policy
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required
- Experience with APAC regional regulations on Global Trade
- Experience with US Export Control regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS/MS International Trade, Engineering or Business Administration
- Experience with both Import and Export Regulations
- Development and implementing standard work
- Program or Project management experience
- Aerospace (program/technical) experience
- Experience with US Export (classification) Regulations; specifically the EAR and the Commerce Control List (CCL),
- Experience with Sanctions and Screening
