Position Overview:

The Director of Global Trade will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing StandardAeros international trade operations. This position involves developing and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with global trade regulations, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international trade compliance, including export, import, customs, and sanctions related regulations within the aviation and aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement global trade strategies aligned with StandardAero’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee compliance with U.S. and international trade laws, regulations, and policies. Oversee the establishment, continuous improvement and maintenance of policies, procedures, and controls to manage trade compliance risks and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline supply chain operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze global trade trends, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, customs authorities, and trade partners.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to trade compliance and supply chain vulnerabilities, developing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Oversees trade compliance training program for all company personnel.
  • Lead and mentor a team of trade compliance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports to executive leadership on trade compliance issues, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.

Position Requirements & Preferences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in global trade compliance of a regulated industry 
  • Thorough knowledge in all areas of global trade compliance, including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Sanctions Programs, U.S. Customs Regulations, tariffs and FTZ Programs. Ability to take on the role of Senior Empowered Official for the purposes of regulatory filings on behalf on the Company and represents StandardAero before U.S. and non-U.S. trade-related regulators.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective trade compliance programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams and levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.

*Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status

Preferred Characteristics:

  • MBA 
  • Licensed Customs Broke
  • Experience in the aviation industry strongly preferred
