Morson Edge is recruiting an experienced SMU Avionic Technician Supervisor to support the Typhoon aircraft programme in Saudi Arabia. This is a high-responsibility opportunity within a respected defence aviation environment, suited to proven supervisors who understand both technical standards and team leadership.
You’ll be joining a structured operation where airworthiness, accountability, and experience matter every day.
The Role
You will carry out scheduled avionic maintenance on Typhoon aircraft while supervising personnel and ensuring all work is completed to the required technical and regulatory standards.
Duties include inspections, modification embodiment, removal, installation, testing, fault diagnosis, system recovery, and second-signature responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled avionic maintenance on Typhoon aircraft
- Supervise technicians within daily maintenance activities
- Hold Second Signature responsibilities and verify work accuracy/compliance
- Raise and manage independent inspections as required
- Conduct daily inspections to maintain programmed schedules
- Support fault diagnosis, recovery, and component replacement activities
- Ensure technical quality and aircraft airworthiness standards are maintained
- Complete aircraft forms, records, and maintenance documentation
- Support housekeeping, cleanliness, and FOD control standards
- Highlight capability gaps or training needs to Team Leaders
- Assist QA with customer enquiries and complaint investigations
- Maintain all mandatory training and authorisations
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Recognised aircraft engineering trade apprenticeship
- NVQ / ONC / OND / BTEC in a relevant discipline, or equivalent acceptable qualification
OR
- Part 66 Licence (current or lapsed) or equivalent acceptable licence
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal training
OR
- Minimum 3 years on the same aircraft type
Additional:
- Relevant equipment-specific type training or Typhoon Q Course preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proven understanding of airworthiness and quality systems
