The Assistant Manager for Safety in Aviation supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS). This role ensures compliance with aviation safety regulations, promotes a strong safety culture, and assists in identifying and mitigating operational risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with regulatory and company requirements
Monitor safety performance indicators and report trends, hazards, and risks to management
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across aviation operations
Support incident/accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking
Ensure compliance with aviation authority regulations (e.g., CAAP, ICAO standards) and internal policies
Develop and deliver safety training, awareness programs, and safety briefings
Maintain safety documentation, reports, and records
Coordinate with different departments to ensure safety standards are consistently applied
Assist in emergency response planning and crisis management exercises
Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Safety Management, or related field
Relevant certifications in Safety Management Systems (SMS) or aviation safety (preferred)
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in aviation safety or related field
Knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (e.g., ICAO, CAAP, IATA)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and report-writing abilities
