Job Description SummaryWorking directly for the Test Cell Business Leader, the Test Cell Technician will provide scheduling, logistical and administrative support for Test Cell as well as coordination of visitors to our Strother Field site for repairs and updates from vendors.
This position requires a collaborator who is willing to provide support for both scheduling and maintaining the Test Cell.

Job Description

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide coordination, organizational, and logistical support for maintenance requirements for the Test Cell.
  • Plan, schedule and follow through with Test Cell repairs and improvements.
  • Willingness to increase their knowledge of the overall Test Cell.
  • Track actions with GE employees and other stakeholders to keep event timelines on track.
  • Willingness to work off-shift hours when required to ensure maintenance actions are completed on time and on budget.
  • Organize and manage the spare test equipment to include the tooling cages.
  • Organize each cell as its own entity, a one stop shop for each of the 5 test cells.
  • Create standard work and processes for each test cell.
  • Responsible for the fuel farm maintenance and the training for offloading fuel IAW ATA 103.
  • Responsible for the Test Cell Budget
  • Responsible for all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance for the test cell and the fuel farm.

Professional Experience, Education & Other Qualifications

Required

  • High School diploma required. Associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in a test cell or maintenance environment.
  • Experience creating and maintaining priority and repair schedules.
  • Experience in MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong project management skills.
  • Time management skills and the ability to work under time pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service mentality with a positive, “can-do” attitude.

Preferred

  • Basic understanding of fire system for both the test cell and fuel farm.
  • Knowledge on how to read facility drawings and the ability to fabricate drawings for the fit and finish of test cell adapters and hardware.
  • CAD experience and ability to interpret building blueprints.

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
