Reporting to the Safety Management Systems (SMS) Manager, the Flight Operations Quality and Safety Inspector is responsible for ensuring that assigned investigations, Quality Assurance (QA) audits, and Quality Control (QC) checks are completed in an unbiased, objective, professional and timely manner in accordance with the SMS Manual and Quality Manual. The Quality and Safety Inspector will also work to complete SMS report validations as assigned.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Conduct assigned investigations, audits, and validations in an unbiased manner within prescribed timelines
Chair program-related meetings and safety committee level meetings as required
Work with department heads to develop and continually improve program-associated policies, procedures and training
Understand current legislation, codes of practice, bulletins and other safe work practices and recommendations
Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System and Quality Assurance Program
Demonstrate a cooperative attitude and friendly working relationship with other company departments
Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
Completion of a Private Pilots License
Successful completion of a Commercial Pilots Ground School, achieved through participation in a recognized commercial pilot’s ground school program, or enrollment in our in-house commercial pilots ground school program
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
Previous experience with a Safety Management Software System considered an asset
Previous experience with an Aviation Management Software System considered an asset (WinAir/VMO preferred)
Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
Working Conditions
Physically able to perform all listed job duties
Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
Work performed primarily in an office environment
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephone
Work performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions
