Position Summary
The Planner Line Maintenance forecasts, plans, and schedules maintenance events to maintain Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory compliance. The Planner will be responsible for ensuring all maintenance is scheduled within the required time providing viable options necessary to route, re-route, and swap aircraft flying lines to accommodate the planned maintenance requirements. The Planner ensures no overfly activity of maintenance tasks while balancing the needs of Technical Operations, System Operations, Marketing, and other internal/external customers.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensures that the required maintenance is scheduled and accomplished within the calendar, flight-hour, and flight cycle limits as specified by JetBlue’s approved maintenance programs, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives and Special Instructions
- Schedules and prepares work packages for Aircraft/Engines Initial Airworthiness (IAW) established procedures
- Coordinates material support requirements for routine and non-routine items
- Manages plot and routing changes such that all maintenance events are scheduled and performed within the time interval (i.e., flight hours, cycles, days, etc.) of the task while accounting for labor, ground time, parts, tooling, facilities, weather, etc.
- Ensures all scheduled planned maintenance is replotted correctly after any swap/reroute event
- Tracks accomplishment of Aircraft Service and Weekly Checks, as well as other low-time items, including Maintenance Equipment Lists (MELs) and other Maintenance Deferred Defect Records (MDDRs)
- Assists with the recovery plan in the event the system operation is impacted by delays or cancellations
- Ensures compliance with and tracking of aircraft to designated maintenance locations to meet projected induction date into JetBlue system (i.e., maintenance ferries, repositioning flights, etc.)
- Collaborates with System Operation, Airports and Technical Operations Leadership to identify operational issues which impact necessary ground time for planned maintenance
- Collaborates with training and integration of new planners fostering a positive learning environment and helping promote continuous professional development within the department
