Job Description:

As an Aircraft Maintenance Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians to ensure that our aircraft are maintained and repaired to the highest safety and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage a shift of maintenance technicians to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on our fleet of FAA Part 135 business aircraft.
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance tasks to ensure timely completion while minimizing aircraft downtime.
  • Ensure that maintenance tasks are performed in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer's recommendations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and recommend new equipment or procedures to improve the safety, efficiency, or reliability of maintenance operations.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers to ensure that maintenance tasks are performed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure that maintenance technicians have the necessary tools, equipment, and supplies to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance technicians, as needed.
  • Train and mentor maintenance technicians to improve their technical skills and safety awareness.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards and promote a safety culture within the maintenance team.
  • Other duties as assigned by the management team based on business needs.
Job Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform required duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for up to three (3) hours per day and sit for up to five (5) hours per day.
  • May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. to a height of 4 feet and up to 20 lbs. to a height of 7 feet.
  • May be required to carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • On occasion, you must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee, and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Must be able to routinely climb/descend stairs.

Experience and Qualifications

The most successful candidate in the position will meet most, if not all, of the following criteria.

  • Current A&P Certificate required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and requirements for maintenance of Part 135 business aircraft.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • Corridor experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, as needed.
