Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Aircraft Fuel Cell Technician based in Cecil Field, Florida. In this role, you will perform maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, equipment, engines, components, and systems according to DOD, manufacturer, company, and supplier directives to support aircraft modification. You will be responsible for the removal, installation, and inspection of fuel cells and related components, analyzing various aircraft sealing, structural, and assembly drawings to detect seal level deficiencies, and diagnosing leak test results to identify structural and assembly sealing errors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform removal, installation, and inspection functions of fuel cells and assembly, and installation of components such as fuel lines, hardware, and fittings.
  • Analyze aircraft sealing, structural, and assembly drawings to detect deficiencies.
  • Diagnose leak test results to identify drawing, specification, structural, and assembly sealing errors.
  • Recommend corrective actions to address deficiencies.
  • Perform disassembly and teardown operations of aircraft fuel systems and related components.
  • Remove fuel cells and components from aircraft following specific procedures and techniques.
  • Prepare cavities for the installation of fuel cells and components.
  • Install fuel cells and components following specific procedures and techniques.
  • Use appropriate pressure test equipment and make repairs as required.
  • Check the condition of fuel cells for damage and inspect cavities for the condition of internal fittings.
  • Work from operation sheets, diagrams, blueprints, engineering orders, mil-specs, and verbal instructions.
  • Maintain schedules and quality standards.
  • Check work for completeness and accuracy.
  • Notify supervision of any malfunctions, defects, and damages of equipment, material, and product.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • May be required to work in other fields incidental to the completion of the assignment.
  • May be required to perform other related duties and assist other aircraft mechanics as needed.
Essential Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 4 years of fixed-wing (any) fuel cell aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance once hired and maintain that clearance for continued employment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, and test procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in preventive maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and system testing.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, repair, and installation of fuel system components.
  • Proficiency in using blueprints and other technical documents.
