What you can expect as a Falcon Technical Training Instructor at West Star:
The Falcon Aviation Maintenance Technical Trainer is responsible for developing an aviation maintenance technical training program for the site and/or enterprise for Falcon aircraft. This position is also responsible for assessing the skills, performance, productivity and talents of employees in the company and preparing and delivering training material.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
Instruct team members in both a classroom type setting and/or in person “hands-on” an aircraft or using simulation tools.
Administer theoretical training examinations and/or practical assessments as applicable.
Maintain up to date and accurate customer training records for all training conducted.
Act in the capacity of Subject Matter Expert (SME) during development and/or upkeep of current and accurate instructor materials as well as client training materials and/or during the development of new training courses and/or modules.
Prepare training site/environment for training sessions in advance of training commencement.
Effectively work with Maintenance, Quality Control, and various support agencies to achieve desired learning and development outcomes.
Develop training material and requirements to achieve effective learning outcomes in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station Training Program requirements.
Schedule, track, plan, coordinate, and organize training events and activities, identify training facilities, prepare classroom, and provide training documents and materials.
Implement computer-based training (CBT) as required.
Design and produce technical training videos.
Conduct orientation programs and arranging on-the-job training for new hires.
Resolve any specific training needs/problems and tailoring training programs as necessary.
Identify future training needs and create a curriculum to facilitate that training.
Maintain all Aviation Maintenance Training records in a state of regulatory compliance.
Maintain training records, history, courses, and presentations within the company’s current Learning Management System (LMS).
A customer-focused attitude and a passion to share what you have learned in your own personal experience.
Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a diverse global team.
Proficient and comfortable with virtually based instruction.
Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
What you’ll need to bring with you:
Your Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
An FAA A&P, Transport Canada AME, EASA, or equivalent license.
A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not mandatory.
Your Experience:
Seven years of related work experience in aviation maintenance and formal instructor training, or practical experience delivering training, with an emphasis on the following civil Falcon aircraft types: F50/EX – F2000EX, EX EASy, LX, LXS – F900B, C, EX, EX EASy – 7X – 8X – F10 – F20.

Supervision:
Work under the supervision of the Director of Technical Training.
Working Conditions:
Varied positions in and around the aircraft, as well as inside a classroom setting (virtual and in person), will be the norm.
Equipment Used:
Computer software programs (Windows 2010 Suite, PowerPoint, MS Word, FrameMaker, MS Photo Editor, Adobe Pro) to develop, revise, and deliver training material and presentations.
The following information is disclosed according to state specific requirements. If the position applied to is not in a state with these requirements, the following information may not apply. The salary range for this position generally ranges between $75,000 - $100,000. Actual rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semi-annual discretionary bonus, as well as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), paid holidays and vacation time.
