Job Description:

Labcorp is seeking Aircraft Mechanics for our new state-of- the art hangar located in Burlington, North Carolina

At Labcorp you will be viewed as an essential part of a dynamic and growing Aviation maintenance team responsible for servicing, repairing, maintaining, and overhauling Pilatus PC-12 aircrafts and Pratt Whitney Canada (PWC) turboprop engines, such as PT6 series engines to ensure airworthiness in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations.

Your role reports to the Director of Aviation Maintenance while giving weight to your ability to work accurately under pressure, often following strict safety regulations and performing maintenance tasks on complex aircraft systems while adhering to precise specifications.

What to Expect
Working Conditions
•    This position is based at the Burlington Alamance Regional Airport – KBUY
•    You will be required to live within a 1-hour drive from the KBUY airport
•    You will be part of a Diverse and Inclusive team of aviation professionals.
•    You will be working out of a Beautiful New state of the Art Aviation Hangar.
•    Hangar environment is industrial repair shop with exposure to occasional high decibel noise, hazardous chemicals (fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid, etc.), industrial machinery, mechanical lifts, and operating aircraft. 
•    Monday through Friday
•    First Shift hours: 730a to 430p 
•    Third Shift hours: 1130p to 730a
•    Flexible in schedule: overtime may be requested

 

Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Conducts aircraft maintenance on company owned aircraft by servicing, repairing, maintaining and overhauling company aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness in accordance with federal Aviation Regulations
•    Complies with applicable regulatory bodies, including but not limited to the FAA, OSHA, and EHS and complies with all necessary paperwork as mandated by regulation.
•    Carries out assigned work in an expeditious manner, exercising sound judgement in executing each work project
•    Reports and repairs maintenance hangar and facilities deficiencies where applicable 
•    Completes assigned tasks with minimal to intermediate supervision.
•    Coordinates with Supervisors on aircraft issues affecting schedule.
•    Repairs flight safety issues at the time of occurrence on the flight line.
•    Recovers aircraft having grounding events at outstation bases. 
•    Coordinates with Supervisors when the flight schedule is affected by aircraft maintenance issues.
•    Conducts maintenance training on the job for mechanics.
•    Supports and participates in the Safety Management System.
•    Collaborate with Flight Operations to ensure a culture of safety and efficiency
•    Provides support to Ground Operations as needed 
•    May be required to travel domestically up to 15% when needed to outstation bases for aircraft repair and this may require overnight stay (Outstation bases: Ohio, Alabama and Florida).

Job Requirements:

Minimum Education and Experience, Required:
•    Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
•    Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License
•    Must be eligible to obtain FAA Inspection Authorization (IA)


•    2+ years of experience in the field of aviation maintenance

Recency of Experience
To be eligible to sign a maintenance release, an aircraft maintenance person must have within the preceding 24 months, 
a)    Undertaken recurrent training on at least one aircraft group (e.g. large or small cabin, etc.), or system for which they exercise that authority
and
b)    Have at least six months experience in the inspection, servicing or maintenance of an aircraft or systems in accordance with the privileges granted by the license held in relation to that maintenance release.

 

•    Demonstrates knowledge of the maintenance programs for the aircraft operated
•    Demonstrates knowledge of the national regulations and standards relating to aircraft maintenance.
•    Knowledge of, and participation in Safety Management System.
•    Possesses own tools, the Company provides all specialized tools

 

Preferred Qualifications:
•    FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) 
•    2+ years of aviation maintenance experience on the same type of aircraft.
•    Knowledge and/or experience working on the Pilatus PC-12 aircraft and the PWC PT6 series engine 
•    Knowledge and/or experience in Quality Inspection, Heavy Maintenance, Sheetmetal repair, Avionics Troubleshooting, and Maintenance training.
•    Knowledge of LabCorp flight operations and schedule

 

Skills and Competencies:
•    Knowledge of FAA regulations as it pertains to aircraft maintenance.
•    Knowledge of aircraft parts serviceability.
•    Basic skills with Microsoft Office and applicable suite of products
•    Knowledge of applicable industry specific-software tools, including Flightdocs, and CAMP
•    Understanding aircraft systems and the ability to communicate them with the pilots in determining aircraft airworthiness
•    Effective communication with pilots, other mechanics, and maintenance personnel to report issues and coordinate repairs. 
•    Attention to detail: Critical for ensuring all aircraft components are properly adjusted and maintained according to precise specifications. 
•    Ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately, troubleshoot problems, and find effective solutions. 
•    Fine motor skills needed to handle small parts and tools with precision. 
•    Ability to understand technical manuals and maintenance instructions. 
•    Willingness to learn new technologies and stay updated with industry changes. 
•    Collaboration with other mechanics to complete complex maintenance tasks efficiently.
