Job Description:
- Under general supervision, layout and construct tools from Tool Design, Engineering drawings, and/or hand sketches.
- Perform the necessary calculations of the material needed to do the job.
Essential Functions:
- Set up and operate tool shop machinery and equipment to fabricate and assemble quality tooling from Tool Design, Engineering drawings, and/or hand sketches.
- Calculate the materials needed and the speed and feeds required for all of the machining functions.
- Set up and utilize precision measuring tools; check your own work for conformance to specifications.
- Assist with tool proofing on new and reworked detail tooling.
Additional Functions:
- Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Operate cart and forklift.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Three (3) years of machine shop experience and/or machine shop training at a Vocational Technical School.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
Other Requirements:
- Must have a good understanding and ability to apply shop math. Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
This position will be utilized to repair existing bond/assembly tooling, conduct PMs and tool cleaning, and any other tasks that are required. Most work will be conducted without the use of a tool shop (minor repair).
Salary Range:
$28.00-$29.00
