Job Description:

Morson are looking to recruit a logistic professional on behalf of our client in Barrow.

This will be a 6 month contract and rate of pay 18.74 PAYE and starts will be immediate subject to security clearance.

Role Description

Reporting to the Stores & Logistics Manager, to safely and accurately receipt, store, pick and pack, dispatch items.  Using appropriate IT systems, equipment and processes to meet customer requirements.  

Core Duties

  • Unload and/or receive items safely
  • Receive in items (internally and externally), ensuring documentation is correct and packaging intact, recording items on SAP as soon as practical to do so
  • Store items so they are easily retrievable with appropriate identifiers
  • Pick items required by production, update SAP and deliver to correct location (raising any incomplete requirements before releasing)
  • Produce relevant documentation
  • Manage stock movement records in SAP as directed by Projects
  • Carry out cycle count as directed by Team Leader
  • Pack and wrap relevant items to ensure they are appropriately protected
  • Operate Fork Lift Truck and other stores equipment, including checks, basic maintenance and record keeping
  • Raise any issues or potential non-conformances (product and process) with Team Leader, support quarantining items, root cause analysis and determining preventative action as appropriate
  • Attend mandatory training (safety, equipment and processes)
  • Support any improvement/lean initiatives
  • Liaise with 3rd party warehouse providers.

 

 

Skills

 

  • Experience of working in a warehouse & logistics environment
  • Working knowledge of SAP (warehouse management) and other ERP systems, MS Excel and Outlook
  • Fork Lift Truck Licence Holder
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Knowledge of and practical experience in stores procedures.
  • Customer Focus, experience in delivering customer service with a positive and can do attitude.
  • Methodical and thorough approach to work, and the ability to multi-task and work at pace whilst maintaining high standard of compliance.

 

Qualifications

  • FLT Licence holder
