DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
- Representing the Finance department, participate in development and integration projects involving financial and other business processes and systems
- Document existing processes within the Finance department, recommend improvements, and lead or support project initiatives as required.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and assist users with adoption.
- Conduct training sessions on new functionality and processes; ensure cross-training across finance team members.
- Identify opportunities to use existing financial data sources to better develop management and other reporting
- Facilitate data stewardship within the Finance department by documenting data sources, identifying and addressing data quality issues, and ensuring data governance processes are being followed.
- Analyze and document current and future state financial processes and systems architectures (in partnership with IT team). Design and manage change management processes that involve finance process changes and transitions.
- Understand the linkages between financial systems and communicate the impact of changes with all stakeholders.
- Evaluate existing application features to ensure they are fully leveraged to meet business needs and identify opportunities to implement advanced features.
- Identify and recommend application and process changes based on finance business requirements and system interdependencies. Gather and document business requirements and translate those to functional and non-functional requirements.
- Summarize technical designs and changes to a non-technical audience. Collaborate with cross-functional linked teams through the project lifecycle.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Accounting Information Systems.
- Eight (8) years of previous experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of finance and accounting processes and systems.
- Strong project management skills, including effective time management and prioritization abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to effectively listen, understand issues, and verbalize and visualize concepts.
- Strong experience with ERP, expense management, and other financial systems
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central and SAP Concur an asset
- Ability to identify and priorities areas of high risk
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Highly advanced MS Excel skills, including Power Query and Visual Basic (VBA)
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools, including Microsoft PowerBI and IBM Cognos
- Proficiency in MS Office and tools such as Word, Outlook, etc.
- Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada
