Supplier Quality Engineer Senior

The Ocala site supports both low-volume/high-mix production and high-volume manufacturing, utilizing a combination of automated processes and labor-intensive assembly operations. Our represented manufacturing workforce is supported by a highly skilled engineering, operations, and quality organization focused on delivering mission-critical products to our customers.

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Ocala, Florida is seeking a motivated Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE). In this role, you will serve as the primary quality interface between suppliers, internal operations, and program leadership to ensure procured materials meet all contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements.

What You Will Be Doing
The Senior SQE will support supplier performance management, lead corrective action activities, conduct supplier surveillance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure supplier quality performance supports program objectives.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not
limited to:

• Lead supplier quality performance
management activities including supplier
scorecards, corrective actions, and continuous
improvement initiatives to ensure suppliers meet
program quality and delivery expectations.
• Partner with strategic suppliers to drive process
improvements, defect reduction initiatives, and
long-term supplier capability development.
• Lead complex root cause investigations using
structured problem-solving methods (8D,
DMAIC, Fishbone, 5 Whys) to eliminate recurring
supplier defects.
• Conduct supplier surveillance activities
including quality system audits, process audits,
source inspections, and First Article Inspection
(FAI) verification.
• Identify supplier risks related to quality,
capacity, and process capability, and implement
mitigation plans to protect program execution.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement,
manufacturing, and program management to
resolve supplier-related issues and support
program milestones.
• Analyze supplier quality data and metrics to
identify trends and implement corrective actions
that improve supplier performance and reduce
defects.
• Support Receiving Inspection and production operations with timely resolution of supplier nonconformances to minimize production disruptions.
• Support customer audits and regulatory assessments related to supplier quality processes and compliance to AS9100 requirements.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to improve supplier processes, reduce defects, and increase product reliability.
• Perform on-site supplier engagements to support root cause investigations, process improvements, and supplier quality performance initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or other STEM discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS) such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or equivalent.
• Experience performing Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
• Experience with supplier quality processes including source inspection, First Article Inspection (FAI), supplier audits, or supplier corrective action management.
• Experience analyzing quality data and identifying trends to drive improvement.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple functions.
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Lockheed Martin business systems such as SAP, Apriso, Windchill, etc.
• Experience conducting supplier audits, surveillance activities, and quality system assessments.
• Knowledge of AS9100 aerospace quality management system requirements.
• Experience supporting supplier performance management and improvement initiatives.
• ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA, or equivalent).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Demonstrated ability to influence suppliers and drive corrective action resolution.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including presentation to leadership and customers.
• Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors, including delivering results, building effective relationships, and modeling integrity and accountability.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
