Senior Advanced ASIC FPGA Engineer
Bloomington, MN
Contract Position
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, verification, and documentation of ASIC and FPGA developments, contributing to mission-critical systems and innovative technologies in defense and security.
- Define, design, and verify ASIC/FPGA projects, ensuring comprehensive documentation and adherence to design standards.
- Develop architecture, system simulations, and detailed design strategies, including module interface definitions and device simulations.
- Evaluate and optimize design process flows such as high-level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilization.
- Create and implement test and simulation plans, ensuring functional criteria are met and analyzing performance outcomes.
- Contribute to the generation and maintenance of technical work products, supporting both internal and external customer requirements.
- Lead research, data analysis, and feasibility assessments for customer design proposals and specifications.
- Support technical subcontract management, including SOW development and subcontractor oversight.
- Present requirements, designs, and project results to internal management and customers.
- Guide technical tasks for small teams, contributing to successful project outcomes and improvements in engineering processes.
- Engage with vendors for capability assessments and product development support.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field; 8+ years of experience. Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience also considered.
- Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance required.
- Experience and Skills:
- Strong expertise in ASIC/FPGA engineering and related disciplines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- In-depth knowledge of project leadership, including SPI/CPI, Earned Value Management, and Statistical Process Controls.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex engineering challenges.
- Experience leading small technical teams and engaging with customers and vendors.
- Familiarity with technical presentations and effective communication for varied audiences.
