As a valued member of our team specializing in the Public Safety sector, your primary objective revolves around the Public Safety market segment, in our SW Integration & Verification team in Jyväskylä. We are not just looking for someone to run scripts; we are looking for a person who specializes in building robust automation infrastructure. You will be working with critical communication solutions that support public safety professionals in saving lives. 

Your Specific Tasks: 

You will be the driving force behind our testing capabilities. Your mission is to architect and build the test automation that verifies our critical software solutions. You will independently identify testing needs and engineer reliable, maintainable solutions to address them. Your expertise will be key in solving complex technical challenges and evolving our automation infrastructure for the future.

As we increasingly adopt AI-assisted testing, you will play a central role in leveraging both general AI models and our secure on-premise solutions to accelerate automation development. We expect you to use these modern tools to boost coding efficiency, generate intelligent test scenarios, and streamline failure analysis. 

While our primary focus is on building robust automation, we value a pragmatic mindset. You should be ready to perform targeted manual testing when necessary to validate complex user scenarios, even as we strive to minimize manual effort through continuous improvements in our automation.

Let’s talk about you – who is set to thrive in this position? 

In this role, we need a seasoned Software Test Automation Engineer who has:

• Software Development Background: You view test automation as software development. You have solid experience in writing production-quality code.
• Test Process Expertise: Deep knowledge of the testing lifecycle and methodologies.
• Framework Development Skills: You have deep expertise in test frameworks like Robot Framework
• Core Tech Stack: Deep proficiency in at least one major language (e.g., Python, Java) and a willingness to master others.
• AI Proficiency: Understanding of AI principles and the ability to leverage AI-based tools (whether public services or on-premise solutions) to accelerate coding, problem-solving, and test generation.
• Experience: 3&43; years of experience in software development or test engineering.
• Methodologies: Strong understanding Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) or similar
• Growth Mindset & Drive: You are a proactive self-starter with a passion for continuous learning and the ability to drive initiatives forward independently.
• Language: Fluency in English.

Experience in following is considered as a plus:

• DevOps Mindset: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and configuring CI pipelines.
