Job Overview
Technical owner of an engineering product across its rapid lifecycle from prototype to production and fielded product support Essential Functions • Acts as the Technical Director for assigned UAS platform, accountable for managing all aspects of product design, production, testing and support. Responsible for the full life cycle development and sustainment from concept to retirement of assigned UAS platform.
• Provides Interface between Project Management, Design and Production team
• Co-Chairs (with Program Management) the Air Vehicle Change Control Board (CCB) for assigned UAS platform and coordinates design upgrades and corrective actions with quality, manufacturing engineering, production and supply chain management.
• Responsible for development, implementation, and management of AS9100 design and development processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
• Accountable for developing and documenting system and subsystem level requirements and interfaces in coordination with suppliers and design team. Responsible for verification of the as designed solution to those requirements.
• Responsible for defining system and subsystem interfaces and translation of those requirements across a multi-disciplinary team which they manage.
• Responsible for leading a team of engineers and contractors to ensure a total technical solution is within scope, budget and being delivered to the customer on time Standard Essential Functions • Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis.

Qualifications and Competencies
• Strong Communications Skills, both verbal and written; and ability to read and understand technical requirements documents required
Experience in the following areas preferred:
• Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Flight testing
• RC Aircraft or UAS
• JIRA task management
• Effective problem solving and analytical skills required • Required to display strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meeting project/company objectives.
• Required to focus on teamwork and puts the success of the team above ones own interests.
Education / Certifications
• Bachelor of Science in any of the following fields: Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Masters Degree in Engineering preferred
• Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred Experience
• 10 years of relevant experience leading teams in the development of aircraft, unmanned systems, and/or other complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Developing and tailoring System Engineering processes based on program cost, schedule, and risk tolerance
• Developing requirements traceability verification matrix (RVTM) and supporting the verification analysis and testing.
• Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards in a design and manufacturing environment
• Using System Engineering tools to document and manage project requirements
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
