Northrop Grumman Aeronautics System Sector (NGAS) is seeking a Manager Tool and Die Making 2 – Tool Maintenance to join our Tooling Operations Organization in the Aerospace Structures Business Unit (ASBU). This manager will be part of a team of qualified, diverse, individuals located on site in Clearfield, Utah.
Our team develops and implements complex laser tracker (metrology) inspection processes utilizing highly complex inspection systems. Our team also repairs, inspects, and maintains Special Tooling used in a manufacturing environment. Additional responsibilities of this position include the combined strategic (long-term) and tactical (short-term) management planning activities.
Essential Functions:
- Provide direction for employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies for with direct supervision of 10-20 employees in a manufacturing environment.
- This Tool Die Manager 2 will lead Manager 1s, manufacturing analysts, and dimension control technicians.
- Supervises employees responsible for tool maintenance, repair activities, and tooling support of production operations.
- Maintains tooling schedule and milestones to meet program master schedule objectives.
- The manager will be responsible for the supporting long-range plans and strategies to provide the most affordable Tooling products and services in the industry.
- Identify and develop staffing/skills requirements, forecasts, and training plans.
- Manager will have Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsibility to program activities and will ensure compliance to EVMS for all direct & indirect budgets.
- Delivering presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders.
- Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees.
- Responsible to collaborate with other Aeronautics Systems Sector Tooling Management to develop consistent process and procedures to help drive affordability and insure the deployment of best practices across the sector.
- The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team setting.
- Communicate/interface with multiple levels, such as Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Tool Design to interpret, analyze, and advise on the data/inspection results.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance, and/or metrology; OR Masters degree and 3 years of related experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance, and/or metrology
- 2 years of experience in leading teams or projects
- Microsoft Office Experience
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance and special program access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the needs of the business.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership/management experience in aerospace or a related industry
- An active (in-scope) DoD Secret security clearance last investigated within 5 1/2 years
- Special Program Access
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
- Capable of verifying, updating, and flow down of department procedures for technical adequacy
- Experience and familiarity with assembly tooling and/or inspection requirements of composite parts/materials
- Self-Starter and ability to work through an issue to closure.

Salary Range: $111,700 - $167,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
