Job Summary: Responsible for designing, administering, and maintaining reliable, secure, and

high-performing database systems.

Combines traditional DBA expertise with Site Reliability Engineering principles to

ensure availability, automation, scalability, and operational excellence across on-prem and

cloud environments.

Administer production and non-production databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, MSSQL).

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement backup, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor database health, system performance, and storage utilization using Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
• Engineer and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code deployments with Terraform and Ansible.
• Configure CI/CD pipelines for database schema management and environment provisioning.
• Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to design resilient and fault-tolerant architectures.
• Required Skills / Must-Have
• Expert-level knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and MSSQL.
• Deep expertise in backup/recovery, replication, clustering, high availability, and performance tuning.
• Strong command of query optimization, schema design, and indexing strategieExperience:15+ years in database administration infrastructure automation, and reliability engineering.

Nice-to-Have / Preferred Skills

• Exposure to large-scale distributed systems (Cassandra, Kafka, ElasticSearch).
• Experience with Redis Enterprise or high-performance caching architectures.
• Knowledge of microservices reliability patterns and service mesh (Istio, Linkerd).
• Background in cost optimization, performance benchspaning, and DR design.
• Experience driving DevOps/SRE adoption and cultural transformation initiatives.
• 24×7 production support readiness and on-call rotation participation.

Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

MCA / BCA / Diploma in Computer Engineering with 15+ years of progressive DBA/SRE experience.

Certifications/Licenses:

• MongoDB Certified DBA Associate (preferred).
• Oracle MySQL Database Administrator or Microsoft SQL Server Certification.
• AWS / Azure Database or DevOps Engineer – Professional.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
• HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
