Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Flight Test Engineer to join our Final Assembly Line based in Mobile, AL.
The Flight Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the proper execution of ground and flight tests on production aircraft. They report directly to the Director of Production Flight Test - Mobile (AALN2).

Your challenges:
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform Flight Test Engineer duties for Production Aircraft (A220 & A320): 70
Perform all ground tests and flight tests required to obtain Certificate of Airworthiness (CoA) and customer acceptance of production aircraft.
Ensure the proper execution of the ground and flight tests by:
Requesting the necessary aircraft configuration and loading.
Writing and signing the Flight Order and the Flight Crew Report also signed by the Captain.
Calculating weight and balance and take-off data.
Accepting the aircraft technically, on behalf of the Captain, by checking, filling and signing the Technical Log Book.
Ensuring technical follow-up of the aircraft.
Defining the classification of the flight.
Conduct the flight and operate aircraft systems and COCOTO (COckpit COllection TOol).
Filling in the Technical Log Book (reporting malfunctions or anomalies, requesting modifications for the next flight).
Calling for a debriefing when necessary.
Writing the daily “Dépêche” and the Flight Crew Report (if so required, in cooperation with other crew members), forwarding the FTE log to the data processing team.
Requesting the necessary data processing for completion of the flight analysis.
Flight Acceptance Engineer Duties (A220 & A320): 20
Your boarding pass:
Required:
Bachelor&39;s degree in Engineering/Science/Aeronautics, or equivalent professional experience.
Flight Test Qualification as an FTE2 or FTE1 from a recognized Flight Test institution, means graduate of a recognized Flight Test school (ETPS, EPNER,USNTPS, USAFTPS, NTPS and ITPS) or holder of an EASA Class 1 or 2 Flight Test Rating, or having a DGAC FTE2 approval. Applicants who do not have this qualification will not be considered.
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Flight Test Engineer under the Flight Test Qualification mentioned in the Education part.
Preferred
Prior Airbus experience in a Flight Operations environment, especially A220 or A320.
Experience in transversal role and management of projects.
Training in Crew Resources Management and Human Factors.
Licensure/Certifications:
Required:
Flight Test Engineer Qualification (ETPS, EPNER,USNTPS, USAFTPS, NTPS and ITPS or minimum EASA CAT 2 equivalent).
FAA or EASA Medical Class 2.
Preferred:
EASA Category 2 Flight Test Engineer Certificate.
Travel Required: 30 Domestic and International (Canada, Europe...) for training and exchanges with other Airbus Flight Test Centers (Montreal, Hamburg, Toulouse, Tianjin).

Knowledge of Flight Test Operations.
Engineering background sufficient to support Flight Test Engineer duties.
Knowledge of EASA and TCCA regulations concerning flight operations and flight test.

As per FOM, the candidate should be able to work up to 12 hours when necessary for operations.
Even if main activities are mainly conducted during the week, as per FOM the candidate should be able to work on weekends when necessary for operations to 6 consecutives duty days, followed by a full day off duty.
Preferred: Qualification as an Airbus FTE/GTE.

Must hold an EASA, TCCA, or FAA Class 2 Medical and be able to perform duties as aircrew on a daily basis.
Vision: Able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings daily.
Hearing: Able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms daily.
Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily.
Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts daily.
Carrying: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs daily.
Lifting: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs daily.
Pushing / Pulling: Able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools daily.

Squatting / Kneeling: Able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
