Job Title: Journeyman ElectricianJob Description
As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for fabricating, installing, and operating various hydraulic, vacuum, and pneumatic systems. You will provide electrical installation and maintenance services to D-Site and NEAT Facilities. This role involves working from detailed electrical schematics and prints, bending electrical conduit, pulling large and small gauge wiring, and installing and modifying electrical panels, raceways, enclosures, motor-driven equipment, motor meggering, lighting systems, and other associated electrical hardware and devices. Future training may be required to obtain qualified operator status within a test facility. You will also assist in the decommissioning and relocating of the NEAT facility and be responsible for any electrical systems within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, install, and operate various hydraulic, vacuum, and pneumatic systems.
- Provide electrical installation and maintenance services to D-Site and NEAT Facilities.
- Work from detailed electrical schematics and prints.
- Bend electrical conduit and pull large and small gauge wiring.
- Install and modify electrical panels, raceways, enclosures, motor-driven equipment, motor meggering, lighting systems, and other associated electrical hardware and devices.
- Assist in the decommissioning and relocating of the NEAT facility.
- Responsible for any electrical systems within the facility.
Essential Skills- Experience with pipe bending and tube bending.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
- Skilled in using hand and power tools.
- Experience with vacuum systems, pneumatics, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of conduit bending, industrial service, voltage distribution, and amps.
- Journeyman Electrician with experience in 480v wiring.
- Experience in R&D laboratory inspection and repair.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Must have Journeymans Card or Associates degree in Electrical Technology.
- Must have 5+ years of industrial electrical experience.
- Experience with 3-phase motors.

Work Environment
The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance, and Engineering (TFOME) team at the NASA Glenn Research Center provides engineering and technical services in aeronautics, space power, and propulsion test facilities. This position is located at the NASA facility in Sandusky, OH. The role will involve working at NEAT (NASA Electric Aircraft Test Facility) and/or D-Site (Battery Testing Facility). During testing periods, electricians will spend about 60 of their time in the control room monitoring systems and 40 performing preventative maintenance on the facility.
