This position is responsible for the avionics and electrical repair of AeroGuard Flight Training Center aircraft.
Responsibilities include:
- Inspect, repair, test, and troubleshoot avionics and electrical systems.
- Must have the ability to read and understand technical data such as wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, engineering drawings, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
- Build and repair wiring harnesses using common practices including soldering and crimping.
- Perform 24-month certifications as required by part 91.411 and 91.413.
- Perform avionics modifications and installations.
- Repair aircraft flight simulators.
- Assure that work areas are kept clean and organized.
- Complete required paperwork for work performed.
- Must have basic tool set.
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
- Other duties as described in the Repair Station Manual.
- Must be able to be flexible and work all shifts on an as needed basis.
REQUIREMENTS
- Airframe and Powerplant license preferred.
- FCC a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of five consecutive years of recent avionics experience is required.
- Experience performing part 91.411 and 91.413 tests and recertification is required.
- Experience on Piper aircraft is preferred.
- Garmin G1000 experience a plus.
- Experience in a certified 145 repair station is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of AC43.13 standard aircraft wiring practices.
- Familiar with the use of ground support equipment, common test equipment, and tools.
- Microsoft office knowledge preferred
EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED
- General office equipment such as facsimile, copier, personal computer, etc.
- Vehicle operation such as company van, truck, golf cart, aircraft etc. as required.
- Will require the use of various pieces of shop equipment and tools.
- Exposure to solvents, aviation gasoline, etc.
PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Works in many environments inside and outside of the facility.
- Will have extensive exposure to aircraft, simulators, outside conditions and equipment.
- May have some medium lifting up to 50 lbs.
- May require prolonged periods of sitting or standing, bending and stooping.
