Job Description:

The ISD Avionics Technician / Aircraft Electrician will be responsible for the installation of electrical systems on customer platforms in end user environments. Travel will be required to various domestic or international law enforcement and military agencies, and affiliated locations where the systems are being fabricated and assembled. Based out of our Portland, Oregon facility, you will be a key member of the installation team. 

The major responsibilities of this position will include: 

  • Build avionic electrical/electronic components for installation on aircraft.
  • Read and implement schematics and blueprints to install and troubleshoot wiring.
  • Install surveillance equipment on end user platforms - e.g. fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, armored vehicles, ships, including implementation of airframe/structural modifications. 
  • Assist with operational and functional testing of electrical/electronic systems both in the lab prior to shipment and at customer facilities. 
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues, using knowledge of systems wiring and electronics to isolate and correct the fault. 
  • Provide maintenance and repair of aircraft electronic components, equipment, and wiring.
  • Provide technical support and end-user operator and maintenance training for ground and in-flight users.
Job Requirements:
  • 3 plus years of aircraft or helicopter Electrician or Avionics Technician background.
  • Experience in aircraft electrical system installation, fabrication, and maintenance.
  • FAA A&P license & FCC License preferred. 
  • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR Part 23,27, & 43, AC 43.13). 
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Knowledge of FOD and tool control.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Familiar with MS Office software and able to communicate effectively using a variety of methods while in the office and traveling. 
  • Must be able to travel outside the U.S. without restrictions and for prolonged periods (up to 3 months). 
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
