Overview of Role:
WestJet is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support major technology initiatives and lead the evolution of our Business Requirements Office (BRO) — our Business Analysis Centre of Excellence.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technology Delivery, the Senior Business Analyst will strengthen business analysis practices across the organization, develop scalable standards and templates, and act as a trusted partner to business and technology teams. You’ll help ensure clear requirements, consistent delivery, and strong alignment between business needs and technical outcomes.

Key Deliverables include:
Business Requirements Office (BRO) Leadership
- Lead and mature the Business Requirements Office, including standards, templates, and BA community of practice
- Develop and maintain scalable templates, tools, and processes that support multiple delivery methodologies — including waterfall, hybrid, and Agile.
- Build and facilitate a community of practice for Business Analysts, Product Owners, and technology partners.
- Curate a centralized repository of BA artifacts, standards, and guidance materials.
- Develop and deliver training, workshops, and coaching to uplift elicitation, documentation, facilitation, and analytical skills across teams.
- Identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and continuous improvement
Business Analysis Delivery
- Deliver senior‑level business analysis for large, cross‑functional technology initiatives
- Facilitate requirements elicitation and produce high‑quality documentation (BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps)
- Support backlog refinement, intake, and alignment between business and technical teams
- Validate delivered functionality and contribute to business cases and roadmaps
- Build strong relationships and provide strategic guidance across business and technology groups
Experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or related field
- IIBA certification (or willingness to obtain),
- Other relevant credentials (Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, OCM) are considered an asset
- 8+ years of progressive Business Analyst experience
- Experience supporting large, multi‑stakeholder technology initiatives in complex, enterprise environments
- Experience contributing to or leading practice development, standards, or communities of practice is preferred.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver across waterfall, hybrid, and Agile methodologies
- Expert with BA standards, frameworks, elicitation techniques, and requirements management/process modeling tools
