Purpose
Translates and aligns technical, business and operational requirements of systems, applications, services etc into technical and / or functional specifications, ensuring the overall capability / viability of a specific product/s is achievable. Ensures the integration of the requirements matches that of interacting systems, applications and services both inside and outside of SITA in the wider airline community. Participates in sections of single or multiple projects ensuring the solution/s developed meet both the projects functional and business requirements.
ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
- To practically implement technical solutions, including systems and applications, based on established technical and functional specifications.
- This role ensures the effective on-site deployment and seamless integration of these solutions with both internal and external interacting systems.
- The Implementation Engineer contributes to project milestones by delivering and validating solutions that meet the required functional and business outcomes.
- Participates in sections of single or multiple projects ensuring the solution/s developed meet both the projects functional requirements.
WHAT YOUโLL DO
- Implements the complete on-site lifecycle deployment of Self Bag Drop (SBD) systems.
- Defines and ensures all installation prerequisites are met for SBD unit deployments, proactively addressing potential delays.
- Executes the mechanical and electrical installation of SBD units, ensuring precise alignment according to approved specifications while striving for efficient and timely completion.
- Manages the technical integration with BHS system.
- Supervise on-site contractors and junior technicians, providing clear direction and ensuring high workmanship standards.
- Directly engages in or supervises mechanical installations, electrical cabling, termination, and panel connections, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards and identifying opportunities for streamlining the installation process.
- Leads system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities to guarantee performance, safety, and efficiency. Provides comprehensive training to relevant stakeholders on the operation and maintenance of the newly implemented SBD systems.
- Participate in ITP and UAT test for Mechanical, Electrical and Software Components
- Maintains comprehensive technical documentation that supports the implemented SBD systems. Ensures strict adherence to safety and quality control measures at every stage of the implementation.
- Act as the primary point of contact on-site, providing daily progress updates to the Project Managers and addressing any concerns or modifications on site.
- Raises all risks and issues that affect the project following set processes and ensures appropriate action is taken, paying particular attention to factors impacting the installation timeline.
- Escalates risks and issues that pose a significant impact to deliverables, especially those related to schedule.
- Supports the implementation of SBD systems in each specific airport location.
- Frequent travel is required.
Qualifications
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
- At least 5 yearsโ experience in implementation of Conveyor systems, Electrical panels and IT systems.
- Bachelors degree (B. Tech or B.E.) or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering is preferred- Where applicable a recognized professional qualification is desirable.
