Let your career take flight by joining our diverse and vibrant team at the leading edge of passenger aviation.The Specialist, Technology Transformation will be a key resource to support multiple high priority Technology Transformation programs and strategic initiatives currently running across the organization.This role will work across multiple initiatives to deliver strategic insights, evaluate process and resource gaps, assist with internal change management initiatives, and ensure the successful delivery of both organization-wide Transformation programs and an ongoing rollout of a new Operating Model within the IDD team itself. These initiatives will help shape the future of how Technology is delivered at Air Canada. The successful candidate has a track record for delivering transformational change, from strategy through to planning, execution, and benefits realization. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across IDD, HR, Finance, Strategic Procurement, and other enterprise branches.
Responsibilities:IDD Strategy and Roadmap
Provide strategic support for annual and quarterly planning cycles, facilitating progress assessment and roadmap recalibration in response to evolving priorities and external dynamics.Develop executive-level materials that communicate strategy and roadmap progress, impact, and next steps.Implement and track a performance measurement framework, leveraging data driven insights to guide strategic decision making and drive accountability across the organization.
Workforce TransformationImplement the IDD Talent Strategy in collaboration with HR, ensuring alignment to future-state capabilities.Develop, execute and monitor workforce transition change management plans, including upskilling, reskilling, and redeployment programs in close ties with HR and the overall Transformation team while fostering a culture of agility, learning, and accountability through structured change management efforts.Assist with the delivery of a role-based Training program to ensure our teams have the right skills at the right time to adopt new technologies, processes and ways of working.
Operating Model TransformationAssist in the implementation a product/platform-based operating model tailored to IDD’s context and priorities.Participate in the seamless integration of operating model changes across HR, Finance, and IT systems and processes, aligning cross-functional capabilities to support transformation.Develop tools to monitor and communicate implementation progress.
Vendor Strategy and Sourcing Model.Execute and roll out IDD’s overall sourcing model, balancing internal capabilities with strategic external partnerships.Create a governance and performance framework to manage vendors and ensure value delivery.Oversee onboarding, integration, and ongoing relationship management with vendor partners to ensure alignment with IDD strategy.
Stakeholder Management and CollaborationAct as a connector across business lines, helping drive alignment and integration across transformation initiatives.Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders including IDD leadership (for strategic direction and initiative ownership), HR (for talent, organizational design, and change management), Finance (for cost tracking, benefits realization, and budgeting), and other enterprise branches (for coordination and enterprise-wide enablement).Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and outcome-orientation across stakeholder groups.
Transformation Measurement & ReportingDefine and track adoption, engagement, readiness, and learning effectiveness metrics; report insights to stakeholders.Monitor communication effectiveness and adjust approaches based on feedback and data.Measure learner readiness and application of new skills to confirm enablement aligns to adoption outcomes.
Qualifications5-7+ years of progressive experience in corporate transformation, strategy or enterprise program delivery.Demonstrated success supporting complex transformation programs across multiple functional areas.Knowledge in financial management, cost optimization, operating model transformation, and strategic planning.Demonstrated understanding of global sourcing models, shared services, and vendor management.Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with a track record of influencing senior leaders.Knowledge of change methodologies (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR, Kotter) and strong facilitation and influencing skills.Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills; ability to translate complex change into clear narratives and actionable guidance.Strong record of effective facilitation and problem-solving.Proven ability to manage ambiguity and drive results in a dynamic environment.Bachelor’s degree required.Event Planning and Event Management experience in a corporate context is considered a valuable asset for this role.Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.Experience developing and managing deliverables to drive change across the organization in an asset in this role, including but not limited to Change impact assessments, stakeholder maps, readiness and resistance plans, adoption and reinforcement plans, Integrated communications plan, FAQs, leader toolkits, event/town hall content, training strategies, learning needs analysis, role-based curricula, job aids, training rollout plans, dashboards and reports on adoption, engagement, communication effectiveness, and training outcomes.
