Job Description

The Dowty Sales & Marketing Executive is responsible for the functional areas of Sales, Marketing and Commercial operations for the Dowty Propellers business segment. You will be accountable for the overall sales strategy development and capture of original equipment and services business for aircraft propeller systems in domestic and international markets. This new role is required as Dowty becomes a standalone P&L within the Propulsion and Additive Technologies portfolio. You will be responsible for building and developing a team, as well as the associated processes required for effective and lean commercial operations. The successful candidate will be excited about opportunity identification, engaging in commercial discussions with senior executives from prospect accounts, managing pilot projects, customer deployments and the overall customer success.

Essential Responsibilities

You will be expected to motivate and develop a high performing team, as well as provide executive leadership of the OE Sales, Services Sales, Marketing and Commercial Operations functions.

You will manage the effectiveness of resource supply of your team and develop relationships with the wider Dowty Propellers and GE Aerospace teams to facilitate successful partnerships across the business and Value Streams.

You will engage a variety of sources to engage new talent, including direct recruitment, early career candidates, contingent workers and global resources.

You will be responsible for the commercial processes ownership and the development of the Dowty Propeller strategic plan.

Together with the Dowty Leadership team, you will develop a compelling vision and value proposition for the Dowty product and services offering.

You will be building trustful relationships with current and prospect customers, identifying, qualifying and developing opportunities driving business growth.

You will execute on assigned operating plan to assure that the business achieves our growth, orders and cash targets.

You will support and oversee development of customer strategies and pursuit / campaign plans.

You will be accountable for the oversight and development of numerous, complex, multi-million-dollar proposal efforts.

You will perform day to day team management, including administration of holidays, time-keeping and talent development.

You will be prepared to travel internationally.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in Aerospace / Defence industry business development, sales and/or marketing.
  • Well-rounded experience leading a business development, sales and/or commercial team.
  • Experience in coaching teams to high performance levels whilst creating an inclusive environment that leads to high levels of commitment and belonging.
  • Excellent people leadership skills.
