Job Description
Our Client stocks over 1 million part numbers for OEMs, MROs, and airlines, offering end-to-end services that reduce cost, risk, and complexity. The site in Hialeah is a distribution center where they receive third-party manufactured parts, perform quality inspections on them, and then ship to manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities
- Verify routine product conformance to design requirements.
- Provide objective evidence of results.
- Perform auditing, surveillance, and monitoring.
- Identify and document discrepancies.
- Segregate and control non-conforming items.
- Perform preliminary review and disposition of non-conformance.
- Conduct product review with customers during product or process verification.
- Identify repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiate requests for corrective action.
- Inspect incoming parts/material, verify outgoing orders, check parts for processing, and check special orders.
- Daily use of micrometers, gauge controls, calipers, indicators, etc.
- Mentor the Inspection team.
- Conduct dimensional inspections per design record and documented AQL levels; conduct visual inspections for obvious defects.
- Review and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per AS9100 and Company Quality standards; communicate with vendors as needed.
- Disposition and control of non-conforming product.
- Obtain and maintain Customer Designated Supplier Quality Representative Stamps for at least three customers (or as applicable by Site size); active use of stamps required.
- Review and approval of First Articles from suppliers.
- Perform First Articles for submission to customers.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivity and assist with RCCA activities pertaining to Inspection.
- Assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits.
Essential Skills- 2-4 years of related work experience (4-6 years preferred).
- Equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.
- Previous aerospace inspection experience.
- Experience in QA inspection methods and procedures, including First Article Inspection.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
- Required to pass documented color and near vision exam.
- Knowledge of AS9100 requirements.
- Experience in the usage of calipers, ring/pin gages, comparator, and Smart scope.
- Proficient PC skills and use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel).
- Understanding of Six Sigma / team concepts.
- Advanced GD&T Skills – Optical Comparator, CMM, Layout, Vision Scope Systems.
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
