We have an immediate opening for a Centralized Field Engineering (CFE) Principal Specialist supporting the RSS Other Advanced Sensor program. This position is based at NAS Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, WA.
The individual will be a member of a Field Team that will interface with product users to provide long-term technical field support for complex electronic and electro-mechanical radar systems. Candidate will perform corrective and preventative maintenance, hardware and software installations, and troubleshooting on assigned system hardware, tools, and support equipment.
Duties consist of execution of diagnostic software and removal and replacement of circuit boards, chassis, and other miscellaneous equipment. System level training will be provided, and the contents of the training material will be used in conjunction with the diagnostic software to troubleshoot most system problems.
What You Will Do:
- Participate in daily reviews with customers.
- Perform administrative tasks necessary in day-to-day operation of a repair facility.
- Utilize knowledge gained from the training and through field experiences to provide onsite technical support and assistance directly to customers.
- Communicate technical information effectively in writing as well as verbally.
- Possess the ability to efficiently create and maintain documentation using Office products.
- Perform basic UNIX commands and interpret results as part of the maintenance process.
- Coordinate with the home office as required to troubleshoot problems and perform necessary repairs.
- Ability to travel to Danger Pay posts (as defined by the US Department of State) and or other international locations if required.
- Able to travel to both CONUS and OCONUS sites up to but not limited to 150 days.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Minimum 4 years of related experience - 5 years overall technical experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience supporting military in repair and maintenance of complex electronic systems.
- Experience in system integration, logistics processes, and logistics procedures.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Military avionics or electrical training.
- Airborne radar system experience.
- Experience with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program.
- Experience navigating and executing commands within a UNIX environment.
- Excellent technical writing, oral communication, and inter-personal skills to achieve technical objectives.
- Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
