RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs dimensional inspection of castings using conventional/mechanical metrology methods including measuring, data processing, and analysis.
  • Reviews/interprets complete blueprints of airfoil castings in preparation for inspection (DISCUS software experience a plus).
  • Works with Quality and Product Engineers to develop inspection plans.
  • Review layout inspection reports and prepare reports for submittal to Quality Engineer.
  • Performs dimensional inspection of castings using blue light (3D) scanning and associated software including scanning, data processing, and analysis.
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere and effectively communicates with customers, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Other duties as specified by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering and/or extensive background in airfoils layout inspection or tool building preferred.
  • Significant knowledge of mathematics including trigonometry and algebra.
  • Must be willing to learn reading and interpreting complex airfoils casting blueprints.
  • Must have working knowledge of mechanical metrology equipment and layout gages/fixtures.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
  • Strong team orientation, sense of project ownership, and attention to detail
  • Computer skills required with background in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point).
  • 3-D CAD modeling (UG NX 2306), 3-D inspection software (GOM Inspect, Polyworks), and 2-D digital optical measuring equipment (RAM Optical) experience strongly recommended.
  • Prior experience in programming a CMM desirable (PC-DMIS).
