This position is located in the Office of Security and Hazardous Materials Safety (ASH), and may be assigned to any of the organizations within the Office of Infrastructure Protection. This position supports ASH in accomplishing mission-critical responsibilities and key agency goals and objectives in ensuring the protection of FAA facilities, national security information and/or secure telecommunications.
Duties
FV-H level: Typical duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist in conducting assessments, inspections and/or evaluations of programs, facilities, plan and design specifications and contracts to determine compliance with FAA security requirements and assist with conducting assessments, inspections and/or evaluations supporting the Classified National Security Information (CNSI), COMSEC and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) programs to ensure compliance with national security requirements. Assist in the evaluation of existing and proposed security practices and make recommendations to correct identified deficiencies. Perform analysis to determine the existence of actual or potential threats to life, property, assets and National Security Information on government-owned or leased property. Provide technical guidance and direction for evaluating security protection needs during normal operations and emergencies. Participate in evaluating and selecting the security measures most suitable for a particular type of facility. Recommend corrective actions to eliminate or reduce risk(s). Prepare and enter reports into the appropriate ASH databases.
Receives reports of incidents, accidents and thefts and follow up as necessary to provide information and training on how to prevent these events. Facilitate the implementation of processes and procedures to address security vulnerabilities. Provide technical guidance to FAA Lines of Business and facilities on development and/or modification of security plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Use partnership concepts to develop mutual approaches to achieving security objectives. Perform other duties as assigned.
