SUMMARY:

The EHS Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining the environmental, health, and safety programs at the Air Industries facility under the direction of the EHS Manager. This position will work closely with operations, maintenance, and other stakeholders to minimize health and safety risks to employees, ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, and implement corporate EHS initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Support policies, programs, and projects to address workplace hazards and environmental issues.
  • Support and train employees on EHS procedures, and act as the voice of employees by advocating for their needs and concerns.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of EHS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and PCC corporate initiatives.
  • Lead improvement projects to optimize wastewater and process water systems.
  • Act as project manager for ongoing environmental projects by coordinating with consultants and agencies.
  • Participate in periodic EHS audits, including safety, air, stormwater, wastewater, and hazardous waste, to verify that programs meet or exceed requirements.
  • Evaluate facilities pursuant to safety and environmental conditions. Identity areas of concern and advise management regarding interpretation of requirements and actionable recommendations.
  • Facilitate incident investigations to reveal root causes and required correction actions.
  • Generate and submit safety and environmental reports, including Form R, Annual Hazardous Waste Generator Report, Wastewater Discharge Reports, OSHA 300 Logs, etc., as required.
  • Research and write permit applications and complete permit reporting requirements.
  • Maintain all records and documents pertaining to OSHA, EPA, and PCC regulations.
  • Coordinate inspections by regulatory agencies and ensure resulting findings are corrected.
  • Manage data for Air Industries in Gensuite EHS management software.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health and safety or related field.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the field of EHS in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local EHS regulations.
  • Talent for influencing change, leading cross-functional groups, and establishing trust with employees.
  • AS9100 knowledge helpful.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within groups to meet established timelines.

Relocation is authorized for this position.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $70600 to $88200 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
