Aligned to business priorities, the position of Crew Reporting Analyst, Crew Resources is primarily to support the Manager, Crew Reporting in the research, development and implementation of modelling, forecasting and monitoring tools for the Crew Resources departments – Crew Planning, Crew Administration and Crew Scheduling. The position includes data mining, statistical modelling, forecasting and reporting for various pilot and flight attendant operational and financial measures. The position also will support branch and cross-functional projects that require reporting and analysis functions. This accountability also extends to support crew data analysis and reporting for Air Canada rouge.
Responsabilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain statistical models for optimum planning of pilot and flight attendant operations and improvement of current processes including short-term and long-term plans.
- Analyze data, identify trends, produce statistical reports to increase operational efficiencies.
- Query information and metrics from data stored in a variety database source.
- Monitor, investigate, correct, and prevent data quality problems.
- Convey complex information using a variety of formats in a way that is easy to understand.
- Provide knowledge transfer of technical skills, report generation, software programming, data management, and analysis procedures.
- Provide supporting data and analysis for business case development for various Crew Resources projects.
- Measure and report on compliance to regulatory and contractual agreement standards
- Use available benchspaning data to review current processes and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Reporting on crew productivity by developing and implementing interdepartmental strategies through quantitative analysis of historical crew and flight productivity measured against the change in network plan.
- Recommends and implements crew / pairings / training allocation strategy changes based on conclusions of analyses and strategy sessions.
- Redefine and improve upon the current reserve forecasting model to better align it with the current contractual changes and business processes. Unify the process for both the FOPS and IFS groups.
- Integration of said RSV model into forecast processes shared amongst various team within FOPS, IFS and finance.
- Design and implement quantitative performance monitoring tools to align and reconcile staffing models, operational results, and budget targets.
- Participate in the creation of regular reports for senior management.
- Prepare and present operational post analysis, observations, and recommendations to internal and external resources.

Qualifications
- Effective communication skills and ability to capture business and operational challenges and offer suggestions on ways to improve performance.
- Effective at communicating change management opportunities to various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in programming and/or knowledge in: Teradata, Azure, SQL, MS Power BI, WebFocus, MS Excel, VBA, MS SharePoint, Python.
- Strong statistical analysis and modeling experience.
- Ability to understand financial implication of operational decisions and develop cost-benefit studies.
- Represent Crew Planning during the budget exercises with the Finance team.
- Ability to create opportunities from identified operational challenges.
- Effective organizational skills and an aptitude for managing the pace of change.
- Degree in Mathematical or related quantitative field
- Strong IT background
- Creative mindset with strong analytical skills and a natural curiosity for problem-solving.
- Results oriented and attentive to details.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Experience with operational/ financial reporting tools.
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal.
- In-depth knowledge of the Air Canada/ALPA and Air Canada/CUPE Collective Agreements as it relates to crew pay, position assignments, vacation and training to effectively measure and report on efficiency rates.
