Role title
Corporate Compliance Specialist.
Your role
We are looking for a professional corporate compliance specialist to join our legal and compliance team and provide support and advice on corporate compliance and related matters and ensure that our company and group companies comply with relevant laws and regulations. You will also liaise with management, the wider corporate group and regulators as needed.
- Support and assist the Aer Lingus Compliance Officer with the corporate compliance accountabilities and responsibilities as outlined in the group Ethics & Compliance Charter, including:
- governance & oversight including in relation to conflicts of interest, anti-bribery anti-money laundering;
- third party due diligence Know your Counterparty (KYC) process;
- training & communications;
- policies & procedures;
- risk assessment/management;
- monitoring, reporting & control process;
- Speak Up and investigations.
- Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and training.
- Ensure day-to-day operations comply with existing policies and procedures.
- Identify and mitigate compliance risks and provide solutions.
- Keep up with developments and changes in compliance and regulation and relevant legal frameworks.
- Analyse counterparties relationships to detect potential irregularities and/or compliance issues.
- Identify counterparties posing higher risk due to the existence of red flags or other high risk corporate compliance triggers.
- Comply with relevant legislative and regulatory standards, internal processes and procedures in relation to KYC due diligence and data privacy.
- Manage the caseload in a timely manner.
- Assist with company secretarial matters plus (as required) data protection, competition, and consumer protection.
Your qualifications and key criteria
- University degree is required (Business Management, Finance, Law or related field) or relevant equivalent experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to partner effectively with others in handling complex issues.
- Ability to prepare well-structured and comprehensive written material.
- Proven ability to work with all levels of management.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Excellent knowledge of applicable laws and regulations including those related to compliance and ethics (no aviation sector specific knowledge is required).
- Good knowledge of the relevant legislation and enforcement regimes.
- Practical skills and knowledge in using dedicated IT tools or software.
- Practical skills and knowledge in using MS 365 Office suite.
- Eligible to live and work in the Republic of Ireland without restriction.
- Able to provide details of 2 verifiable references.
- Able to pass a 5 – year security background check.
- Prepared to complete a medical questionnaire and medical examination.
