The Station Coordinator will load and offload cargo and passenger bags, check-in and board passengers, process arrival and departure times, complete all regulatory paperwork, manage email and telephone communication with internal and external customers, process payments for cargo and tickets, and assign tasks to station agents.
Level: As per the UNIFOR Collective Agreement. Additionally, employees are entitled to a Coordinator premium and a Northern Living Allowance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
- Provide input into Employee scheduling and assignment, on the job training and instruction;
- Ensure that Company policies and procedures are adhered to, and deviations to same are reported to management; · · Assist passengers with mobility and special needs;
- Assist with claims for damaged or missing goods;
- Maintain records as required and disseminate information;
- Record flight arrival and departing times;
- Conduct radio communications with the aircraft;
- Process weight and balance and load control data;
- Process shipment and reception of all cargo;
- Handle all cargo and perform load service duties;
- Provide services to the aircraft on the ground as required;
- Perform all warehouse related duties;
- Perform commissary duties;
- Assist with reconfiguration of aircraft as required;
- Process passengers and baggage;
- Make reservations and compute fares;
- Issue tickets/airway bills and process sales reports for deposit;
- Assemble, control and transmit reservations and passenger data;
- Administer Interline and employee travel both business and pleasure;
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Windows, Excel and Word;
- Knowledge and experience of loading and load control on company aircraft;
- Weight and balance knowledge and experience necessary;
- Must be knowledgeable of cargo handling and processing procedures;
- Must hold a valid driver’s license;
- Solid organizational skills, problem solving skills, decision making skills, and prioritizing skills;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for internal and external customers;
- Strong Leadership skills;
- Must be able to obtain and retain an Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP);
- Ability to communicate in Inuktitut a definite asset;
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
