Responsibilities:Reconcile headcount base salaries along with overtime and under time paymentsDevelop and execute the staffing bids for assigned station/regionManage long term vacancies and ensure staff is allocatedLiaise with union representatives to address employee concernsManage vacation levels and subsequent backfillExecute equalization of staff schedules at the completion of a staffing bidDelivers advanced planning of staffing levels a month in advance in response to operational changes of the monthly headcount targets while controlling costsPrepare documentation & reporting of schedule assignments for payroll purposesResponsible for tracking and coordination of staff hiring, of staff movement and/or employee status changeManage rolling employee seniority lists resulting from retirements, resignations, transfers, and terminationsCommunicate schedules and assignments directly to employeesMonthly payroll/headcount auditManage escalation of employee pay concernsEnsure that risks related to Safety and Security are addressedResponsible for supporting the safety of operations within their assigned regionSupports the audits of Air Canada SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). Ensures compliance with standards of IOSA, SMS and other applicable authorities.Responsible for supporting Management for safety, security, and customer service activities within responsible regionAnticipates and identifies safety, security, service, and operational problems, and resolves them with the branch safety team while maintaining the focus on safetyDevelopment of daily staff rostersControl of time off incurred with shift cycle changes, assignments ensuring appropriate payroll adviseResponsible for processing/approving requests from union office for union time clearancePrepares all work plan related documents for distribution to unionized employeesResponsible to coordinate with employee reliability on all rehabilitation assignments and return to work changesDevelops and deploys plan to achieve mandatory and regulatory training of unionized employees including completion and compliance
QualificationsCollege Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources (bachelors an asset)Commitment to employee engagementHigh energy with solid planning skillsProven time managementAbility to establish work priorities and perform while under tight deadlinesDemonstrated strong interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenAdvanced knowledge of MS OfficeAbility to work under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt to changing conditionsMust be a self-starter and be able to work under minimal supervisionExperience working in a unionized environment an asset; thorough knowledge of IAMAW or CAW collective agreementsAbility to work on a rotating shift pattern including weekends and the possibility of some extended hoursCompliance with standards of IOSA, SMS and other applicable authoritiesDemonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment
