As an Assistant Controller, you’ll be responsible for the financial operations for our Component Repair Services business in Hialeah, FL. You’ll play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting decision-making processes, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
    • Generating regular financial reports for management review.
    • Coordinate day to day financial operations, monthly reporting requirements and month-end close including reviewing and reporting significant
    • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including assisting in resolving discrepancies and finding efficiencies 
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Collaborating with other departments to develop and monitor budgets.
    • Assisting in the preparation of financial forecasts to support business planning.
    • Annual budget planning and CAPEX reports
  • Internal Controls:
    • Implementing and monitoring internal control procedures to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with regulations.
    • Participating in audits to ensure adherence to established controls.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Overseeing the accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
    • Monitoring cash flow and optimizing working capital.
  • Financial Analysis:
    • Conducting financial analysis to provide insights into business performance.
    • Identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Compliance and Regulations:
    • Staying informed about relevant accounting regulations and ensuring compliance.
    • Working with external auditors to facilitate annual audits.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identifying opportunities for process improvement within the finance department.
    • Implementing efficiency enhancements to streamline financial operations.
  • Team Collaboration and Cross-Functional Engagement:
    • Collaborating with other departments, such as procurement and operations, to gather financial data and support decision-making.
    • Working closely with the controller and other finance team members.
  • Software and Systems:
    • Utilizing financial management software and systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
    • Ensuring the integrity of financial data and implementing system enhancements as needed.
  • Ad Hoc Projects:
    • Participating in special projects or analyses as assigned by senior management.
    • Providing financial insights for strategic initiatives.
    • Lead/Participate in special projects 

 

What skills you will use:     

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing people 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work
  • Is a team player who thrives in an ever-challenging environment  


Preferred Characteristics:

  • 10+ years of accounting experience including review of reconciliations and month end, audit coordination
  • University degree in Accounting and Finance or Business Administration
  • CPA (highly preferred)
  • Corporate ERP software knowledge
  • Is a team player who thrives in an ever-challenging environment  


Requirements:

  • Supervisory experience over a team of 2 direct reports or more
  • Able to travel up to 25 within Florida West and East Coast
